Product Information

In 1949, EMD delivered the first of thousands of F7As and F7Bs. These 1500-horsepower locomotives soon became the standard freight power for many railroads. The new Showcase Line Phase 1 F-7s are replicas of these popular locomotives. Details on these ready-to-run units include etched stainless steel Farr grills; Locomatic AC/DC sound units with horn, bell, prime mover and compressor sounds; full interior with hand painted 2 man crew; formed wire grab irons and lift rings; illuminated headlight and numberboards; turned brass horns; and see-through low fan shrouds with movable fan blades.All units, including B units, are powered and feature five-pole motors with dual flywheels; die-cast frames and gear boxes; AF-compatible steel wheels and couplers; and eight wheel electrical pickup. Models include NMRA RP25 wheelsets for operation on Code 110 rail, mounting screws for KD 802 couplers and parts for conversion to either DC, or DCC (digital command control) operation.
